Knicked Tween & Teen Period Underwear Size Guide

Our period underwear is designed here using Australian Child/Youth underwear guidelines.  It's important to note that Child sizing, also crosses over into women's sizing at our 12/14, so we have also shown this on our sizing charts to assist.

We also understand purchasing online can make judging sizing difficult and as everyone has a different body shape (literally hundreds of waist & hip combinations) so we have created the below guides to help you choose the best fit or feel free to email our helpful team at theteam@knicked.com.au with waist & hip measurements so we can assist further.

As a guide we recommend purchasing the same size underwear your tween/teen now wears, for example: if your tween currently fits a child size 8/10 (in any other brand) select our 8/10 but if they wear a ladies size 10 underwear (of any brand) then select our Teen 14/16 as this will be the equivalent.  We have also provided the flat lay (side seam to side seam on the waistband) to measure against an existing pair of underwear.

Don't panic if you do find you've ordered the wrong size, KNICKED will happily exchange sizing and also cover the postal costs to reship (once per order) as long as underwear has been tried on over clean underwear and returned in AS NEW condition (not washed/worn free of lint/hair/marks). Here is a quick link to our how to organise an exchange:  Exchange Page.

Best swimmers for teens

My daughter loves these swimmers. Very discreet. The second pair we have bought.

Child 10/12 swimmers

My daughter is going through her first summer after getting her period and these bathers are a winner! They are so stylish and can mix and match with her existing tops, giving her the freedom to swim with her friends all summer long.

Just the thing

Trial other swimming period bathers, but not enough absorption to cover all days of a period. Both twin girls love the swimwear period bottoms, with side ties - good coverage but not too "big pants"; better absorbency; with or without ties; add your own top or swim shorts or whatever. Brilliant.

Saved my beach holiday!

I chose Knicked over other brands due to the 4 layers and larger gusset. They did not disappoint! I used these on an island hopping day trip which involved sitting around, swimming and getting in and out of the water. This trip lasted 8hrs and I experienced no leaks whatsoever. This was on one of my heavier days, so I was very impressed. I also used these in swimming pools with no issues. I love how these look like a normal pair of bikini bottoms and have the option to remove the ties. Fit was perfect and true to size. I used to avoid the beach and pool while on my period, but not any more thanks to Knicked! These are a game changer. Just buy them!

Knicked Swimwear Briefs

These swimmers are game changers. My daughter wears regular swim shorts and a long sleeve rashie top. She wears her period swim briefs (with the side ties removed) under the regular swim shorts and they allow her to swim, even with a heavy flow. Only issue was after swimming, sitting on her towel in her wet swimmers, some blood soaked onto her towel. Next time she'll get changed into a fresh pair of her Knicked period undies straight after swimming. We're still figuring all this all, as this is only her second period!

Hi Tracey,
Thank you for your lovely review and mentioning this so we can share why it can happen - Tinted water can show on towels/seats if the swimwear is not allow to slightly dry - the weight of sitting down while the swimwear is very wet eg.straight after exiting the water can cause fluid to be pushed from the absorbency around the leg holes (in our StopLEAK range this is stopped by a barrier). All our swimwear is made with quick drying materials so if you wait until touch dry before sitting this will stop it from happening (as the blood also dries within the absorbency area).
